HI. I'd like to create a spread sheet of my Netscan Bookmarks. I've exported them to CSV, however, bookmarks that have more than one range, export into a format I cannot recognize (example below)
Is there a way of converting the data back to a friendly IP address? I've tried ASCII to Decimal and hex to no avail.

Example:
North - Leeds | LEEDS 1st Floor IT 10.46.5.1 10.46.5.254 170788353-170788606

This is simply a pair of IP addresses in the decimal form. In this case it evaluates to 10.46.6.1-10.46.6.254.

This was once chosen in the network scanner as the storage format for its simplicity, but as I realise now it's not human-readable.

This article explains how to convert these numbers back and forth and this is an on-line converter.

Andrew, any plans run the conversion on export? Would be very useful going forward.

I have done it, but the output format is still a bit messy, looking like this
Test,1.2.3.4,5.6.7.8,"9.10.11.12-13.14.15.16N,17.18.19.20-21.22.23.24D"
I guess that's still better than the meaningless numbers smile I can't change it much as otherwise older CSV files won't import.

Andrew, just tried that new build and I'm still getting exports the old way:
"_Misc | Leeds Servers",159.180.167.1,159.180.238.30,2679416806-2679435006N

New buld reporting ver 5.5.8

Hi John,

That's quite strange. I have just uploaded a fresh copy as 5.5.9.

It also fixes the erroneous check for a double assignment for an empty hotkey.

Hi Andrew. I've just tried the 5.5.9 build, and bookmarks still export as this "North - Leeds | LEEDS 4th Floor SALES",10.46.3.1,10.46.3.254,170787841-170788094
Just wondered if i'm dong something wrong?

Hi Andrew. I've discovered a bug with the latest build, which seems to relate to modification to the IP Bookmarks. What happens is some stored bookmarks that have more than one range, have their values transposed, rather like a mirror image. This invalidates the range and causes errors.
Rolling the build back to previous build, adopts the erroneous bookmarks and so becomes a corrupt config. Noting this it may be an idea to remove 5.5.9 until this bug is rectified.

We have fixed this issue and published a new build.

I am afraid though I cannot automatically fix the transposed address range as it's impossible to determine whether they are transposed or not.

Please download the latest build and reenter the broken entries (or you can reimport them if you have them in outside config files).
