i tried this command but i received error instead, says " System Error Code 5" . but remote shut down is working.
Remote power off works differently, using rather a hack. It makes a connection to the remote host IPC share \\HOST\ADMIN$, then copies a tiny NT service that will power the remote system off. After that it makes a connection to the remote service manager (SCM) and starts the newly copied service. Finally the service removes itself and powers the host off. The above mentioned error may occur at any stage due to the system's configuration.

i am having problem in remote shut down or remote reboot a machine. when i select a machine and try to shut it down or try to reboot it it throws following error message "system error : code 5; access denied".
please let me know the solution of this problem

The solution is be an administrator and to have a properly configured system (with regards to security settings).
