Host Ports always blank or empty
Posted by Damian (July 25, 2010 14:34)
G'day,

We love this software and your Bandwidth Manager, however the main reason we need the Network Scanner is to work out which MAC/IP belongs to which Switch Port. However whenever we run a scan the MAC/IPs are filled in, but the Ports are all empty or blank.

How does the software obtain the Port information? If we run a "show mac-address" on our HP switches it does indeed list the MAC to Port table, but it appears this software doesnt read that information in...

Do we need to configure anything else?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Damian

Hi Damian,

The port column refers to TCP ports open on the target host, not switch ports.

Andrew.
