Volatile data on ramdisk is saved persistently in Windows 8.1

Started by DannyL

Dear,

I'm using Ramdisk 3.4.5 64-bit on Windows 8.1 64-bit.
I want to use Ramdisk for storing temporary files, so as a volatile volume which is cleared at shutdown.
But after a normal shutdown/startup of Windows 8.1, the data is retained in the Ramdrive.
It seems like Windows 8.1 saves all memory on disk, whether it is a ramdrive or not.
Only after a reboot the Ramdisk is cleared.

How do I have to configure Windows 8.1 or Ramdisk so the data on the Ramdisk is not saved to disk at shutdown ?
By the way, I'm not using an imagefile.

Kind regards.

Danny.

This is due to Fast Startup feature introduced in Windows 8. There is a plan to fix this issue in future releases, but as a temporary workaround you can simply disable this feature in Power Options.
