Troubleshooting

Problem: Print Inspector logs everything with a zero number of printed pages.
Solution: It depends on your printer driver. In most cases you may do the following:

  1. Close Print Inspector and stop the Print Inspector service
  2. Open the file service.ini located in the installation folder and locate the JobTimeout parameter (by default JobTimeout is 30 seconds). Try to increase this value to 60 or 120 seconds to instruct Print Inspector to wait the specified number of seconds before it flushes the job.
  3. Start the service

Additionally, you may try to update the drivers for your printer to a latest release available from the vendor.

Problem: Print Inspector doesn't log everything
Solution: Check the Event Log or the file "pinspserv.log" located in the installation folder for error messages. Then please contact us with the error messages from the log file.

Problem: Print Inspector stops monitoring of a network printer
Solution: This happens if the network printer becomes unavailable. Check the Event Log or the file "pinspserv.log" located in the installation folder and restart the Print Inspector service. If the problem persists please contact us with the error messages from the log file.
