cmd line /file: dotted mask discarded   31 October 2015, 22:43

Hi

I am looking to automate scanning. Long story short I need to scan a range from a text file which contains only the 192.168.192.1/255.255.255.0 with no spaces etc. I user below to run netscan against this ip range
netscan.exe /auto /file:c:\temp\Ip-details.txt

I get the error some 1 lines have been discarded. I've re read the manual but it looks like this should work.
from manual: /file:filename.txt x.x.x.x/y.y.y.y 10.0.0.1/255.255.255.0 IPv4 address/dotted mask

192.168.2.1/24 will however be accepted from the text file.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Nothing, it's just this notation is no longer supported. Please see this topic for details.

That answers the question.

I wonder what was the last version to support that notation? Its just that I use a bat file to populate the text file with the ip and subnet mask. I would otherwise need to get the slash notation of the mask by command line e.g. /24 and I'm not sure if that can be done easily.

Thanks

Version 6.0.7 was the last one to support dot-decimal notation.
