Which ports should be open for scanning?   30 June 2015, 16:05

I would like to perform a scan from my head quarter office to Branches office PC however the scanner not return any result and I suspecting the traffic was blocked by the firewall.

May I know what is the necessary port to be open in order to scan the Branches PC?

There can be tens of ports used depending on the type of scan used, and also a variety of protocols. As a minimum TCP, UDP and ICMP should be permitted.

Try the built-in ping command to see if you can reach any computers in the other network.
