hostname analyzing problem in windows 2008.
172.100.100.3 00-22-64-2D-44-4E 0 ms cpe-172-100-100-3.twcny.res.rr.com
I use nirsoft netbscanner, it work well.

I don't see any problem with this unless you imply that NetBScanner returns a NetBios name while our tool does not.

The name you receive probably comes from DNS reverse lookup.

Like I said it's not a bug. The names you receive are the DNS names, not NetBios names.

You get them because your network is misconfigured to use routable IP addresses (172.100.x.x) while a LAN should use 172.16.x.x.

Yikes, that is a problem using public IP addresses on your private network is not a good thing. It can cause some very strange issues. You really should consider changing your network to a private IP address space.
