"Could not register tab" error message

"Could not register tab" error message   12 April 2017, 03:50

Today, we purchased a license for this software to use the v7 code. (I have supported this software for a very long time and now that we are using it at work all the time we need to pay for it)

When we went from v6.2.1 to v7.0.5 using the same XML config file, we now get the "Could not register tab. Error 0." error pop-up message when starting the scan.

Any ideas?

Have you got the software called Actual Multiple Monitors installed by any chance?

If so, it's a known issue, but this error occurs in inside the GUI library the Network Scanner was built upon, so I am afraid it cannot be fixed at the moment. You can simply ignore this error if everything else works okay or try updating Actual Multiple Monitors.

Sorry, for the long reply. Was out due to a medical issues. I don't have that software installed. Any other thoughts?

That is really strange.
What happens if you launch the portable version from a new folder (so it creates a blank config)?

Hummm, same problem on my home computer.

Home: (Windows 10 Professional, 32GB RAM, i7, 2 Dell Monitors, Dell Computer)
Work: (Windows 7 Professional, 32GB RAM, i7, 3 HP Monitors, HP Computer)

I think deleting the XML file resolves the problem. I will try that at work ... tomorrow. -WS

Yes, deleting the XML file does fix the issue, however I have an extremely complex XML file. Is there any way to have the software repair the XML file or update it without losing the settings?

There might be, but we need to check what's wrong with that XML file. Any chance you could e-mail it to support at softperfect.com?
