Suggestion: Refreshing Virtual Columns

It would be great if when a virtual column is refreshed the program knew that it needed to refresh the source columns first.
Example: My V-column [HDD] is programmed as "[HDD Size] | [HDD Free]", both are WMI Queries.
If [HDD Free] fails to populate, the Vcolumn [HDD] will display "465 GB | - "

Refreshing [HDD] doesn't change anything because [HDD Free] wasn't refreshed and is still empty.
To update [HDD] I must keep [HDD Size] and [HDD Free] visible so I can refresh them individually.
Then I can refresh [HDD]. Instead of 1 column, I must have all 3 visible.

If the program knew that to refresh [HDD] it must update [HDD Size] and [HDD Free] first, it would be very convenient.

That's a great idea, thank you. It should actually work both ways:
  1. When rescanning a virtual column, update all columns referenced from that virtual column.
  2. When rescanning a regular column, update all virtual columns that refer to it.
I will post a link to the updated build tomorrow. Stay tuned! wink

Update: the new builds automatically update dependent regular columns when rescanning virtual columns and vice versa.

Just had time to check back on this. I'm surprised nobody suggested this before, I figured I was going to get an eye roll.
Downloaded the new build, so far it works great!
