Could you please tell me how I can determine which IP address is available?

If you want to know what IP addresses are available (i.e. not in use), you can try the following:

Enable Display inactive devices in Options - General.
Scan the network.
Filter out active devices via View - Setup Filter - Response Time - Empty.
The IP addresses still shown in the list are likely to be those that are not used.
