When I do a scan, there is no information provided in the Device Type field. I have printouts from months ago when there was information supplied in that field, but now nothing. How to fix?
There are two possible reasons for this behaviour:
No MAC addresses retrieved. Please check whether the MAC address column is populated. If it is empty, the device type cannot be determined. In that case, review the settings related to MAC address resolution to ensure it is enabled and functioning correctly.
Outdated application version. If MAC addresses are displayed but the device type field is still empty, it may be that you are using an older version of the application. At one point in the past, device type resolution stopped working in older versions due to changes in the third-party back-end infrastructure. Updating to the latest Network Scanner release should resolve the issue, plus device type detection has since been improved.
