How to save and re-import friendly names 13 November 2025, 15:35

Are friendly names persistent for future scans when they are tied to MAC addresses? Are they stored somewhere in the program DB or a config file? If not, how can this information be saved and re-imported? It would be extremely helpful if it could be persistent. This for a local subnet only.

Yes, friendly names and comments are saved in the configuration file, which is a plain text XML file located in %APPDATA%\SoftPerfect Network Scanner

You can also export or import them as CSV files from the management dialog under Options - Friendly Names / Comments.
