SNMPv3 SHA-384/SHA-512 authentication support   21 July 2026, 11:34

Hi,

I'm using Network Scanner 26.5 and have Dell iDRAC10 systems that support only SNMPv3 authentication using SHA-384 or SHA-512 with AES-256. Network Scanner appears to support SHA-1 and SHA-256, but not SHA-384 or SHA-512. Are there plans to add support for SHA-384 and SHA-512 authentication algorithms in a future release?

Thank you.

SNMPv3 SHA-384/SHA-512 authentication support - Added   21 July 2026, 11:51

Thank you for the suggestion. We've just implemented it in the latest build.

Network Scanner now supports SHA-384 and SHA-512 SNMPv3 authentication, alongside the existing MD5, SHA-1 and SHA-256. As AES-256 privacy was already supported, the full SHA-384/SHA-512 with AES-256 (authPriv) combination your Dell iDRAC10 systems require should now work end-to-end.

To use this new feature right away, ahead of the next official release, simply install the latest build over your existing version 26.5. Your current settings will be preserved during the update.
