Ram Disk dont'delete files when pc shotdown   13 December 2012, 22:17

I installed Ram Disk on my pc with Windows 8 Pro (2Gb ramdisk on 16Gb DDR3) succesfully but I have a problem:
I configured the Ram Disk (drive Zsmile without disk-image (NO persistent ram disks) option but when I restart (or shutdown and then start) the Ram Disk is still full with the old files; so I delete manually all the files.
I need that when I showdown my pc all the files in ram disk will are deleted.
Thank you

That's not really possible. Most likely your system goes in hibernation instead, preserving the entire RAM.

I also thought it was impossible ! But are weeks that control every option (the computer is my job) and I also did the last your update. But my temp files and temporary I.Explorer persist and my desktop pc is not hibernating (I remove the electric plug every night). Anyway thanks and greetings.

Windows 8 has a "hybrid shutdown" thing that's the default way of shutting down (unless you have pending Windows Updates or possibly some driver installs). It's got things in common with hibernation, but isn't a traditional hibernation (your applications are shut down and your user is logged off - and other stuff under the hood). Try opening a command prompt with administrative privileges, and type "shutdown /s /t 0" - that should perform a full shutdown.

SoftPerfect might have to handle shutdown/logoff/whatever detection a little differently than they do now smile
