What happens to the RAM Disk contents at shutdown?   28 December 2016, 23:32

I was wondering, where exactly does the app store the RAM disk contents once the user has shut the machine down? I'm sure it's stored on the Windows's drive, but where? Thanks!

Unless you specifically use an image file to backup the RAM Disk's contents, it's not preserved and disappears upon shutdown. For the majority of users, it is precisely the desirable behaviour.

However on Windows 8 and above you may see that files and folders persist across sessions. This is due to hybrid boot, please see this article for details.
