Available memory displayed is less than installed RAM   27 December 2019, 03:00

I have installed the trial version of RAMdisk. I have installed 8 GB physical memory and I'm running Windows 10 32-bit.

When I start the RAMdisk program, the available RAM shown is about 1 GB. I thought with that software I can use 4 GB as a RAMdisk. How can I solve this?

Regards,
Norbert

It is because the RAM Disk driver can only use as much memory as Windows permits. That is, on a 32-bit system you would be able to use 3.5 GB maximum, and often much less due to the space required and reserved by Windows for other processes.

If you want to use the entire 8 GB RAM with our RAM Disk, you would need 64-bit Windows.
