Questions about some changes in the latest versions

I am thinking about getting a new license for the latest version, but I am unsure about the repercussions of some of the recent changes in the RAM Disk, such as the removed drive letter mapping. I like that feature, because I know
what it is and don't need to deal with Windows.

You also removed the option to erase the memory used on dismount. Why? Is there another way to do that in the newest version?

The new live resize feature sounds great, though. And do you support creating the initial dirs with populated files (such as a link back to the HD)?

We strongly recommend updating to the latest RAM Disk version, as this year we have made many stability, performance and driver quality improvements.

Regarding drive letters, assigning a specific drive letter still works exactly as before. What was removed was only the old "Global drive letters for RAM volumes" setting. Now drive letters are always created system-wide via the Windows Mount Manager, which is the standard and most compatible behaviour.

Regarding "Wipe on Dismount", it was removed because memory is now always securely zeroed before being released back to the system. So it simply became an unnecessary setting.

For pre-populated folders/files, the recommended approach is using an image-backed disk or a startup script that recreates links/junctions after mount.
