Is there any way to suppress or decrease the frequency of the notification popups from the application when I am playing?

As the software has no way of knowing when you are playing, it displays a message every time an unknown device was detected in a scan (and that's its main function for your WiFi network protection), but you certainly can choose to run network scans less frequently or even manually.
