How to move application window that opens off screen

Started by Bartel

Hi,
After using Switch Port Mapper with an external screen connected to my laptop, the application now keeps opening off screen. Other Windows applications can be moved back to the active screen, but I don't have this option with the Port Mapper. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling it keeps opening off screen.

Does it keep a startup location somewhere in the registry or in a file that can be changed or reset?
Any help to resolve this would be appreciated.

Kind regards,
Bartel

To reset the application position back to the laptop screen, you can edit the config file directly by doing the following:
  1. Exit the Port Mapper and make sure the application is not running.
  2. Open this file in any text editor: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\SoftPerfect\Switch Port Mapper\NSMapGUI.xml
  3. Locate the following parameters in that XML file: <Top>, <Left>, <Width>, <Height>.
  4. You can change the Top and Left to a zero value, or simply delete the position parameters.
  5. Save the file and start the application. It should now be shown on your main screen.
