Only the first rule works   15 August 2006, 04:15

First Sorry 4 my bad english!

Now my problem!

I Have an Server On an DSL2000 DOWN 250 KByte/s Up: 25 Kbyte/s. He have got only one Lan card (Server IP 192.168.0.1) Over this card goes the DSL Modem and there are 6 Clients connected (over 2 Wlan Accespoint (192.168.0.100 / 101 and over Lan cable) Now i want to limit The Wlan Traffic how should i Do this?? should i limit the Accespoints or the Clients? Is it good to have only one Card for DSL an LAN in my server?
I tried to make my own rules but always 1 rule seems to be work. The greatest Problem is that this one Rule limits Both UP and Downstream! What are my mistakes?

Here my rule for one client

Rule #1: Laptop - Download
Protocol: TCP/UDP
Rate: 50 KB/s
Direction: Both
Source: Any IP address
Destination: 192.168.0.29
Interface: Any Interface

Rule #2: Lapop - Upload
Protocol: TCP/UDP
Rate: 5 KB/s
Direction: Both
Source: 192.168.0.29
Destination: Any IP address
Interface: Any interface

Only one (The rule i Move UP) works? Why?

Because both your rules are bidirectional, the first takes precedence. Change them as follows:
Rule #1: Laptop - Download
Direction: Out
...

Rule #2: Laptop - Upload
Direction: In
...

Or

Rule #1: Laptop - Download
Direction: In
...

Rule #2: Laptop - Upload
Direction: Out
...
I am not sure which one will work for you as I don't have enough information, so you have to try both.
