bridge two seperate networks with one box?   02 February 2006, 17:59

i want to know if i can have four network adapers in my maching and create two independent network bridges. Such that i can link adapeter 1 and 2.. and then 3 and 4. I do not want the networks to communicate with each other. I have one network a 172.16.110.0 and another at 172.16.254.0.. Both need rate limiting, so i need to know if i need to buy two computers or if i can use one box and two network bridges.

thanks.

You can create independent bridges at the same box, for example anything from lan card #1 can be forwarded to card #2 and back, anything from card #3 can be forwarded to card #4 and back. The bridges are fully independent.

Sometimes you can get the answer faster if you try the forum search and/or have a look at the software user manual to see if your question has already been answered.
