Viewing real time traffic   28 February 2006, 19:13

It's posible in the future implementing a real time traffic view for each rule?
Or what I want is to see at a given moment witch IP is doing witch traffic ( ar let's say top 10 bandwidth consumers).
It this suitable for BWM or perhaps for Traffic Meter ?
Regards.

Yes, a similar feature called 'Realtime Bandwidth Chart' is to be implemented in a next release.

I think that Andrew said "in a next version" not in "the next version" smile. So, please patience I don't know if you noticed but if I'm not mistaken we are talking about the work of one maybe two mans.
So what I'm advise all you people is to buy this software because this is the most efective way to support future development of this product!
Regards.

Thanks Alex smile For those who are interested, the current to-do list is as follows:

* Overall usage chart
* Realtime usage chart
* Dynamic bandwidth allocation with guaranteed rates (that's a mostly requested feature)
* Reset all rules command
* Port mapping (including transparent proxying)
* Permit bandwidth less than MTU (1514 Bytes/sec limit)
* Special kind of rule to block/limit P2P networks.

Basically, modern P2P programs use a lot of different hosts and ports and it is hardly to catch them. The basic idea is to analyze the packet's contents for P2P specific protocols tokens. I still don't know how will it work, but hope to achieve a success.
