Can the bandwidth manager limit the upload speed from file sharing programs? If so how does it do that?

Yes it´s posible, there are some ways to limit filesharing programs:
- SBM can detect the P2P, Emule packets etc.
- You can limit the number of connections
- You can limit large transfers.

I´m using SBM for some time now and frankly, P2P is the least of my concerns.

Cheers,
Arthur.

How does the SBM go about limiting the upload speed from a file sharing program like dc++?

It depends on what exactly you mean by 'how'. SBM is capable of shaping uploads, downloads or both whether from a file sharing application or any other network software (and hardware).

How do I set up sbm to limit the upload speed from dc++?

One way is to try to make a rule that limits outgoing traffic via P2P protocols. Another way is to make a rule that permits uploads to well-known ports such as HTTP/FTP at an unlimited rate, and then make another rule that slows down any other uploads, including DC++.

Sometimes you can get the answer faster if you try the forum search and/or have a look at the software user manual to see if your question has already been answered.
