Trouble in Kerio 6.7.1 with BWM   31 January 2010, 11:27

Andrew,

Sometimes Kerio Winroute 6.7.1 shows this message in Warning Log.

(1012) Particular network traffic lost or was modified by conflicting software or KWF driver disabled on some interface!

This message show 4 times today.

This is can be a conflict between BWM and Winroute 6.7.1?

Trouble in Kerio 6.7.1 with BWM   01 February 2010, 11:22

Hi, Lucas

I use BWM with Kerio Winroute for so long, and last with v 6.7.1
I never got warning like that before!!

which version of bandwidth manager u are using ?

I use 2.9.10 and tested 2.9.16 both working fine with kerio

what network adapters u have ?
do u update any network drivers lately ?

how many BWM rules do u have ? all using LAN interface? or (Any interface) ?

do u have RealTek network adapter ? they say (Kerio Stuff) their is some problem with RealTek with kerio
BUT.. for me I have RealTek as LAN interface, and working just fine!

Trouble in Kerio 6.7.1 with BWM   01 February 2010, 11:27

AH.. by the way,,,
What windows do u have ? XP or something else ?

I want to try windows 7 with environment like this ( Kerio + BWM )

but want to know is BWM compatible with windows 7 or not?

Trouble in Kerio 6.7.1 with BWM   01 February 2010, 11:44

Hi Moro!

Thanks for answer.

I have 8 interfaces

Offboard Compaq NC3134 Fast Ethernet NIC DUAL (Using Microsoft Driver)
Offboard Compaq NC7132 Gigabit Upgrade Module (Using Microsoft Driver)
Offboard D-Link DFE-580TX 4 Port Server Adapter (Using drivers from Dlink CD-ROM)
Onboard Atheros L2 Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base-T (Using Driver from motherboard cd-rom)

The Lan Drivers are not atualized, but I will do it soon.

This message happen today at moment 2 times:

[31/Jan/2010 11:32:48] (1012) Particular network traffic lost or was modified by conflicting software or KWF driver disabled on some interface!
[31/Jan/2010 19:21:36] (1012) Particular network traffic lost or was modified by conflicting software or KWF driver disabled on some interface!

I am using BWM 2.9.17 and Kerio Winroute 6.7.1

That seems the Internet for my customers don't stop... but I have to monitor to confirm this.

Trouble in Kerio 6.7.1 with BWM   02 February 2010, 02:17

I really didn't test BWM 2.9.17 with Kerio winroute

and 8 interfaces makes it harder to troubleshot.

OK.. I think the first step u have to do is to downgrade to BWM 2.9.16 and see what's happen
as I told u, I use 2.9.16 with Kerio 6.7.1 with no problem.

if this step goes fine,, then we can be sure it's BWM 2.9.17 cozing this

ps.
I remember that someone in this forum says that 2.9.17 interface hangs !
see this

WOW... it's YOU who say that .. lool smile

I hope you try this , and let us know...
good luck smile

hahahhaahah laugh

I've updated the drivers of Onboard Atheros L2 Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base-T and Offboard Compaq NC3134 Fast Ethernet NIC DUAL to lastest drivers, but today at the moment the message happens 2 times

[01/Feb/2010 06:33:46] (1012) Particular network traffic lost or was modified by conflicting software or KWF driver disabled on some interface!

[01/Feb/2010 17:56:32] (1012) Particular network traffic lost or was modified by conflicting software or KWF driver disabled on some interface!

That seems this problem not interfering in customers navigation... but I have to do more tests to confirm this.

UPDATE:

Yes... I really noticed about a hang in remote BWM GUI in Windows Seven and lost of traffic to the server gateway with BWM (Windows Server 2003), pings not responds, lost of navigation. Today I observed the server many hours and this ocurs again.

In bwmsvc.log show this:

GO BACK TO BWM 2.9.16

Andrew, this is can be a bug in BWM 2.9.17???

Trouble in Kerio 6.7.1 with BWM   03 February 2010, 10:06

I am still using BWM 2.9.16 and Kerio Winroute 6.7.1. Everything goes to the normal.

But this error persist on Winroute Warning Log:

Particular network traffic lost or was modified by conflicting software or KWF driver disabled on some interface!

I am monitoring the network, and this error not cause nothing in navigation, downloads, etc... but is a mistery for me, because this error persist in happen. Maybe my adapters (Offboard Compaq NC3134 Fast Ethernet NIC DUAL and Offboard Compaq NC7132 Gigabit Upgrade Module) are so too much old. But I'm not sure about this...

If this error continues, I will go back to Kerio Winroute 6.5.2, because this old version is stable in my scenario.

Thanks moro666 for suggest go back to BWM 2.9.16 smile

Andrew, I need your feedback about the errors on BWM 2.9.17... you know that many of us have the interest in test and improve BWM.

Cheers

can I understand from that, you already tested BWM on windows 7 ? and it worked fine, BUT the problem is only with BWM v2.9.17 ??

about "bwmsvc.log" it's hieroglyphic language for me laugh

it's time for Andrew to confirm all of this.

I agree with you, but i still trying to survive with 6.7.1 , didn't face real dead problem with it (yet)

about the kerio logs you see, I think this maybe cause of leftover registry files or system files left from BWM 2.9.17

I think the steps you take, is just removed 2.9.17 and installed or Reinstalled 2.9.16 , isn't it ?

about your old adapters.. I still don't believe they are the cause of this problem.

I'll tell you details about my system.. maybe this help in anyway.

Windows XP - SP3
Processor Core 2due 2.6
2 Giga DDR2 RAM

Onboard LAN RealTeck -------> WAN ---- driver date 28/07/2009
off board LAN D-link 530TX ----> WAN ----- driver date 16/05/2007
offboard LAN Intel pro/100 S---> LAN ----- driver date 06/12/2007

Kerio 6.7.1
BWM 2.9.16
-------------------------

at last.. if you find that Kerio 6.7.1 doesn't gave anything new that you can benefit from, go back to 6.5.2

Remember: Kerio 6.7.1 supporting windows 7

and sorry if i talked so much about Kerio things, here is not his place anyway.

Trouble in Kerio 6.7.1 with BWM   03 February 2010, 13:40

Hi moro!

I've tested BWM 2.9.17 in my server (W2003 Server SP2). My PC have W7... I'm only tested BWM GUI for remote access to my server, and like I told BWM freeze on W2003 (my gateway), losting pings, connection, etc.

Talking about instalation, I always do the default way (trivial).

I will never install Kerio on a non Windows Server plataform, so the compability of BWM or Kerio is not a problem for me at the moment because the two programs support W2008 server (if I need to change the SO I will change to W2008 server)

It's time to wait a word of Andrew about this (BWM 2.9.17 possible bug)

I think that we can share knowledge about us scenario, seeking ways to tune the performance of the system.

If somebody of BWM forum want, add me on MSN using the e-mail of my user in this forum. smile (remember: I'm from Brazil, I speak portuguese... I trying to learn english laugh)

Bye

PS: I'am using my nokia to write this text sad. Lol
