"Ignore local traffic within LAN" is affecting local proxy speed

"Ignore local traffic within LAN" is affecting local proxy speed 20 April 2015, 08:28

Hi,
I'm running a local proxy app to filter web data. I found that when turning on the "Ignore local traffic within LAN" option will, it decreases my browsers downloading speed going through the local proxy. Any explanation for this? Need a fix.

Well that's the way it works. Classing every chunk of data as local or not local requires processing that chunk and this needs time.

In your case a good workaround is to use WinPCap instead, as described here.
