Networx takes too long time to boot even on SSD 05 April 2016, 16:11

Hello Softperfect,
Why Networx taking too long time to boot? I installed it on the SSD, and it should faster than HDD ._.

It depends on your definition of 'too long'. On my computer it starts within a few seconds after the desktop is loaded.

There's a chance however it may be be waiting for the WinPCap driver to start if you are monitoring a WinPCap adapter.

There's also a chance that another product like an antivirus may be interfering with NetWorx.

uh oh, yeah Networx starts within 5-10 seconds after I logged in... But my Chrome starts 1 seconds after I clicked on it >.<"
I'm currently using Networx built in driver
Also, I'm using built-in antivirus, Windows Defender .-.

Is Windows Defender intefering Networx? o_O

Ah, 10 seconds is an artificial delay NetWorx waits when launched automatically. There have been reports where NetWorx was unable to interact with the Windows shell, possibly because it was started before the shell was fully initialised.

If you want to avoid the delay, in the registry go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and remove the /auto parameter in the line that launches NetWorx.

Andrew, is there a way to change that registry key (or some other way) to have the Networx startup delay be something less than 10 seconds, perhaps 6 or 7 seconds?

No, it can be either zero or ten seconds. Is it a problem if it starts a few seconds later? wink

Some times mine loads in seconds and sometimes it takes a few minutes. I can't seem to figure out why though.
