Weird file paths starting with B:0\, B:1\, B:2\   06 June 2016, 13:34

The problem with strange file paths and lagging NetWorx.
It turns out that it is Windows bug, because I see Windows Firewall popped out with this weird path thinking
When I tried to scroll this history, NetWorx is lagging so much, it is using 100% CPU usage

Btw, how to fix this weird file path on the database? confused
B:0\ should be C:\
B:1\ should be G:\
B:2\ should be A:\

As you suggested, it may be a Windows bug, but more likely there is some third-party software installed that screws up the paths.

What appears to be NetWorx lagging is the attempts to load file icons from these broken paths. You can try fixing the paths by following steps 1 and 2 from this article and then run:
UPDATE appname SET IMAGE_NAME = replace(IMAGE_NAME, 'B:0\', 'C:\')

Re: Weird file paths starting with B:0\, B:1\, B:2\   06 June 2016, 14:36

well it is only extremely lagging when it tried to load icon from weird paths. While it tried to load from non-weird paths but not actually existed, it is not lagging so much. This is weird confused

Wait, didn't the Networx database located at %PROGRAMDATA%\SoftPerfect\Networx ?
edit : oh wait, they are linking... okay....

When I tried to execute the SQL, it shows an error :
UNIQUE constraint failed: appname.IMAGE_NAME

help? confused

This means you already have some or all of these paths starting with C:\ in that table as well.

Fixing this isn't trivial, I would probably recommend to wipe out the entire DB with the Reset command and start over. All your usage records will be gone though.

Well I don't think so resetting is the best option, because this is happening again and again...
Do you have any idea to... merge them to the existing one?
Changing them one by one seems to be so painful >.<

If it's happening again and again, merging wouldn't help either as you might have to do it daily. My advice is find out what's causing it or better yet have the OS reinstalled. What you are observing should not be happening in a correctly running system.

Well I already found that it happen because I have partition with drive letter B:/
I changed it from B:/ to Z:/
Everything seems normal now except Resource Monitor
ResMon previously running fine, but now, he is reporting with Z:3/ path, which is the C:/
Weird tho

Btw, I'm... kind of freaky... that I want some particular programs are in top 10, and I don't want to lose them all, that's why I want to merge them.
I usually merge non exist path to the existing path by editing the backup XML, but since now it is SQLite, I have no idea... ;_;
