I have a question about "Host Process for Windows Services". I have a bandwidth limitation of 10GB/month and right now I'm into the second day of the billing period. The only major activity showing up on NetWorx is the Host Process and it has almost reached 800MB. Is there a way to cut back on it's activity? It seems to be more active than usual.

Usually it's sufficient to change your network connection status to Metered. When a connection is configured as a metered connection, Windows will assume that your bandwidth is limited and download much less data.

Here is a Microsoft guide on how to configure a connection as metered.

I'm using Win 7.
Trying to follow suggestion from help page in changing to metered connection. Settings does not show up in menu when swiping upper right corner. I looked under Internet Properties - Connections and metering was not listed there. At a loss as to where to find Metering.

For Windows 7 disabling the BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) may help.

Click Start - Run - services.msc, locate the Background Intelligent Transfer Service and set its state to Disabled in the properties.
