Empty network interface list for SNMP router monitoring

Started by Stephan

Hi,

I just tried NetWorx on my MBP M2Pro/macOS 15.4. When trying to setup router monitoring, the drop-down for the selected network interface is empty. No matter which interface I am using, WLAN or my external USB-C adaptor, the drop-down stays empty.

Is this maybe an issue with macOS 15.4?

It is likely that your router either doesn't support SNMP or is not configured correctly. Could you please share the router model? It would help in troubleshooting the issue.
Well… you nailed it. I am using OPNsense on my router, and despite configuring SNMP, the box needed a restart to actually activate it. Seems like an odd OpenBSD thing, as far as I could figure out. Plus - and that was where I really messed up: I didn't read WAN interface, which would have made it clear that it didn't mean the local Mac's interface.

After I rebooted the OPNsense box, all interfaces appeared in the drop-down list. Thanks for nudging me into the right direction.

Best,
Stephan

You are very welcome! We are glad to hear you sorted it out. OpenBSD does have its quirks, and sometimes a simple reboot works wonders. smile
