Determining the best plan/level of the internet service

Started by George C.

I'm interested in finding out what my optimum internet service should be, i.e. what is my max throughput over time.

Basically I need to know the highest Gb/s that I used over a week or month, and when (day and time). Then I will use this knowledge for purchasing the corresponding service level from my internet provider.

How can I find this out using NetWorx?

What you are looking for is quite similar to what NetWorx speed test measures. The highest Gb/s you observe over a week or month typically reflects the fastest connection you can get under ideal conditions - usually when accessing a nearby server, like those used in speed tests or local websites.

Since the maximum speed is achieved with local servers, visiting a local site can give similar results to a speed test. So, to get a reliable picture of your potential throughput, it's best to run speed tests a few times, or even schedule them to run every few hours. This way, you can get a clear average and peak speed, factoring in things like your computer's performance, Wi-Fi quality, router, and any other potential bottlenecks.
