DisplayVersion registry key missing

DisplayVersion registry key missing 19 July 2025, 19:37

Hi, I use UnigetUI which is a package manager. This morning I noticed that it said an update to 7.3.2 was available for NetWorx and the current version was unknown. As far as I can remember UnigetUI has never prompted me in the past to update NetWorx so I looked here, which said that the WinGet manifest for NetWorx 7.3.2 was added yesterday. I didn't see any commits for previous NetWorx versions. I looked in the registry at

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\NetWorx_is1

and saw that the "DisplayVersion" registry key was missing. Once I added that and input its data value as 7.3.2, UnigetUI said there was no update available and the current version of NetWorx was 7.3.2

Is this registry key not added when installing NetWorx or, if it is included, did I accidentally delete it myself? If it's missing from the installer, please consider adding it to future version installers of NetWorx.

Thank you for pointing this out. It appears the DisplayVersion key wasn't created at all, likely because the version number was included in the application display name instead.

We've made a small adjustment to the installer script to address this, and future NetWorx releases will correctly include the DisplayVersion registry key.
