NetWorx is a regular desktop application, so it requires a logged-on user session, and naturally the computer it's installed on must be running and connected to the internet for tests to take place. If the connection drops while the PC is running, downtime will be logged. If the PC itself is off (e.g. power failure) or no user is logged on, nothing will be recorded for that period.
Speed test results and usage data are stored by NetWorx permanently in a local database, so the log persists across reboots and can be used to generate weekly reports.
If you need uninterrupted, unattended monitoring, we offer a separate product exactly for that:
Connection Quality Monitor. It runs as a Windows service (no logged-on user required), can be accessed remotely, and is better suited to continuous quality reporting.
Note that the PC running the Connection Quality Monitor still needs to be powered on. Any internet outages during that time will be logged as downtime.
