In that case, you would need the per-app monitoring driver installed to track which applications are consuming your bandwidth, because on Windows there is no way to monitor how much bandwidth each process uses without a driver. By design, the per-app monitoring driver doesn't interrupt any network connections. It intercepts traffic in read-only mode purely for gathering statistics. However, there is a very slight chance of something going wrong, such as a conflict with another driver, so to play it safe on a remote server you may be better off installing without the driver. There is no defined plan for the release of a certain number of versions. For each product a new version is released when new features are added or something is fixed/improved. For feature-complete products like the Connection Emulator a new version is most likely to be prompted by a bugfix. And, obviously, nobody can predict when (or if) a bug will be discovered.

Please reboot your system a second time. When upgrading, the installer advises two restarts to ensure the RAM Disk driver and graphical interface versions match correctly. When the second reboot is complete, the software menu should open normally. Currently we are reviewing the installation process. In the next release, only one restart should be required.

The old driver version displayed in Windows Device Manager is a purely cosmetic issue: the RAM Disk driver actually gets correctly updated (when it should) after installing a new version, but Windows Device Manager sometimes keeps reporting an older driver version. This behaviour is due to your using an old version of the RAM Disk application. Versions prior to 4.4.1 used the tray icon hint as the identifier. Because the hint dynamically changes with available memory, Windows treats each update as a new icon and creates multiple entries. Starting with version 4.4.1, RAM Disk instead uses a fixed GUID as its identifier, preventing duplicates even when the
