Re: Driver version did not change after upgrade

Hi Ann, I installed the latest version of RAM Disk, released on 8 January. It was a smooth install - no error messages this time. Best of all, only one restart was required. Well done. Thank you.

I installed the latest release of RAMDisk, released on 8 January. It worked like a charm, and yes, only one restart was required. Well, done guys and gals.

Thanks for the info. This is good news indeed. Looking forward to the next release.

Hi Ann, Thanks for your message. I will try to install the next (pre-release) build you release. If I run into any difficulties, I will try and add some screenshots and additional info. For the time being, however, I would like to use the current stable version of RAM Disk, which works just fine here. Again, thank you very much for your support.

On a side note, I tried to install the latest version of RAM Disk (4 Jan 2026). It didn't work as planned. I could not even restart my computer after installing this version. I had to restore my entire disk to a previous state because my computer was unusable after that update. Previous versions of RAM Disk did not cause any problems here, but it is really annoying to be told to restart the c

I have always used command prompts for relocation cache, but this Symbolic11 app seems to make things a bit more convenient. Thank you very much for your help and suggestion, Andrew.

Feature request: relocate cache with Cache Relocator from any folder to RAM disk

Feature request: It would be great if it were possible to use the SoftPerfect Cache Relocator to relocate cache from any folder to a RAM disc.

You're right, Andrew, both drivers (spvve.sys and spvdbus.sys) have been updated to the latest version. Would be great if it were possible to update the INF files as well. Thanks for your support.

Re: Application window opens too far to the right of the screen

1 year ago, by Buddel in WiFi Guard Forum

I have found a workaround in the form of a small app that automatically moves all windows to the centre of the screen. It's not a solution, I know, but at least the misbehaving WiFi Guard window now also opens right in the middle of my screen, as do all other non-maximised windows, including Ram Disk.

Re: Application window opens too far to the right of the screen

No, I have a desktop with just one monitor (acer 1920x1080), and no, I don't have an unusual display configuration. WiFi Guard is the only app that does not open its window where it is supposed to open it. Even Ram Disk, which works like a charm here, always opens its window right in the middle of the screen. I really don't think it's got something to do with my display configuration; I think it's

I agree, but this workaround could help to do something about the strange window location. Thank you very much for the new build. Unfortunately, this new build did not help to resolve this problem. This is what I tried: I shut down my computer and booted it up two hours later: The WiFi Guard GUI opened right in the middle of my screen, so the new build seemed to have resolved the problem. I

Re: Application window opens too far to the right of the screen

QuoteAndrew The issue may be related to timing, wherein Windows attempts to apply the default window position after WiFi Guard has read its settings and positioned the window based on its last location. Maybe it helps to start WiFi Guard with a delay of a minute or two. I have tried to achieve that via task planer, but I did not succeed (not even with the /hide parameter). As soon as the app is la

Re: Application window opens too far to the right of the screen

Last night, I decided to give WiFi Guard another try after not using it for a couple of months. Unfortunately, the problem regarding the application window is back or has not been resolved yet. I still hope this problem can be fixed with one the next releases. I also use RamDisk, which always opens the GUI right in the middle of the screen. This should also be possible for Wifi Guard, shouldn't it

This is good news, Ann. Thank you very much. I will give the latest build a try as soon as I can.

Re: No automatic scanning after boot

Thank you, Andrew. I will give an older version of WiFi Guard a try and see how it works here. Your help is much appreciated.

Re: No automatic scanning after boot

2 years ago, by Buddel in WiFi Guard Forum

Maybe I should add that WiFi Guard does start with Windows, but WiFi Guard does not start scanning on its own. The scanning process always needs to be triggered by the user. The screenshot I added is a bit misleading because the time of the next scan is not shown when the app starts scanning. Unfortunately, I was not able to make a screenshot before WiFi Guard starts scanning. As soon as I trigger

Re: No automatic scanning after boot

Scheduled scanning is enabled in the Settings as shown in my screenshot. However, the status bar is empty. Only when I click the WiFi Guard icon does the app start scanning my network. If I don't click the icon, no scans are performed and the status remains "Idle". I don't remember having this issue with older versions of WiFi Guard. Apart from that, the issue concerning the WiFi Gua

No automatic scanning after boot

I'm using the latest version of WiFi Guard. Whenever I turn on my computer (Win 11 Pro 23H2), WiFi Guard does start with Windows, but the list of devices remains empty. Only when I click on the WiFi Guard icon in the system will the app start scanning. If I don't click on the icon, no devices are shown and the status remains "Idle". Is this a bug or a feature? I thought WiFi Guard wou

No problems so far with the latest build. WiFi Guard has so far always remembered the correct screen coordinates.

I spoke too soon. When I fired up my computer this morning, the bug mentioned in my first post was back.

Re: Application window opens too far to the right of the screen

I installed the WiFi Guard build you released on 5 Sep a couple of minutes ago and rebooted my computer. Guess what? WiFi Guard remembered the correct screen coordinates! I do hope this will also be the case when I boot up my computer tomorrow morning, but it does seem as if the bug I reported above has been fixed with the latest build. Well done. Thank you very much.

Re: Application window opens too far to the right of the screen

2 years ago, by Buddel in WiFi Guard Forum

As far as I know, WiFi Guard remembers its last window position even after a reboot, but this does not seem to be the case when I boot up my computer after a couple of hours/days. Anyway, it's not really a problem, but maybe this can be fixed sooner or later. Again, thank you very much for your help.

Re: Application window opens too far to the right of the screen

Thanks for your reply. WiFi Guard always appears where I placed it before I quit the app. However, this is not the case when I boot up my computer the next morning and open WiFi Guard for the very first time of the day. As mentioned above, I did not encounter this problem when I used older versions of the app.

Application window opens too far to the right of the screen

When I turn on my computer and click the WiFi Guard icon in system tray, the WiFi Guard GUI is not displayed in the middle of the screen (please see attached screenshot). It's not a big deal, but maybe this can be fixed. I did not have this problem with older versions of WiFi Guard. Thanks in advance for your help. Thank you so much for the new build and your top-notch support. Yes, the latest build is definitely a major improvement. Now I can find all my connected devices in the WiFi Guard device list. Great! And yes, the issue where the disconnected devices stayed for too long in the device list is also resolved. I connected my mobile phone to the network and Wifi Guard immediately detected it. As soon

I have just repeated the test I carried out earlier this week: (1) I scanned my network with WiFi Guard three times in a row. Always the same result: WiFi Guard only detected my router and my computer, but it failed to detect three mobile phones that were also connected to my network. And no, the mobile phones were not in hibernation or sleep mode. (2) Then I scanned my network with Wireless
