Incorrect column resizing in Netstat

7 years ago, by Praxis in NetWorx Forum

Grabbing any column sizing icon other than for the Application column on the Netstat report does not re-size that column. Instead it always re-sizes the Application column AND while doing that, it re-sizes in reverse, i.e. moving the icon to the left supposedly to Reduce the width of Protocol, it Increases the width of Application. This holds true for the other 5 columns. However, the icon use

Re: Substitution for the old speedmeter

7 years ago, by Praxis in NetWorx Forum

You can approximate the old Speedmeter using the Current Session option. Be aware that the totals may include other traffic such as auto-updates so avoid downloading the file at times when you know that the auto-updates are likely to occur. 1) Open the Networx General tab, left click on "Today" 2) Select "Current session" from the dropdown list. 3) Get the file you want to

Re: Huawei mobile router with UPnP: incorrect usage reporting

At least you were able to get accurate figures for a little while. My test was as follows: counters before and after downloading a file of 4,716,656 bytes sent 2,631,715,851 rcvd 316,539,157 sent 2,631,818,374 rcvd 316,551,014 Both counters increased, so there was no lockup as you have at home or 'wrap-around' sent diff..102,523 rcvd diff....11,857 Neither diff comes close to the fil

Re: Huawei mobile router with UPnP: incorrect usage reporting

It took a few minutes to parse the first captured data but it was obvious that the router was returning incorrect values which are useless. There are other issues but none are likely to be fixed, I attempted to get an explanation from Huawei but was ignored. When I complained to Bell Canada I was told that Bell's position was that as long as I could connect to the internet they would do nothing

Huawei mobile router with UPnP: incorrect usage reporting

7 years ago, by Praxis in NetWorx Forum

I have a problem similar to another post about UPnP router access. I have a Huawei E8372 "Wingle" i.e. a dongle with Wi-Fi access for up to 10 clients. It seems to report the 'almost' correct 'Sent' usage values but not the 'Received' usage values when accessed by Networx via UPnP requests. I'm using Networx 5.5.4.0 bld 16134 on W7-Pro SP1 64bit. Would you please provide the debug

Re: Graph stalls

Can you suppress checking UPNP when settings are All + Ignore local? Networx is set to use SNMP to check the router, not UPNP. Since you added this there are warnings from the firewall every 10 seconds.

QuoteRodFWIW my hourly rates are greened out - the colour (color) of off-peak usage in the Settings - Advanced tab. I was confused when you said everything was green yet you had unmetered hours. I expected the unmetered hours to be visible and coloured magenta. I dug a little deeper and found that setting/changing the Status in the Hour table to "I" (Ignore), the traffic for that Day-

Re: Usage report inconsistencies

Andrew, Thanks to Rod and his coloured hours , I discovered that: when the setting for is True, you've set the background colour for the Time column to be equal to the colour of on peak, off peak and unmetered but when the setting for is False, you've set the background colour to Black. It used to be White. You should be able to reproduce this, it has nothing to do with the netw

Re: Usage report inconsistencies

another thing, the avg DL & UL Rates on the hourly report are not really all that useful since the totals are averaged over 60 minutes whereas the figures should only include the number of minutes, e.g. 10, while actually DL & ULding during that hour and therefore the averages would be higher and more realistic. In the attacment you can see a video download from a news site that started

Hi Andrew, there's an issue with the Hourly, the time column is blacked out except when hovering over a single row, see attachment J

Rod, what's your hidden setting for ? If , then the grid is not shown on the tab and the only option under the icon is . This is my setting because I'm on cellular and time-of-day is not used, I pay whenever I use the service. If then the grid is shown and you can designate which hours are On peak, Off peak and Unmetered. You can then use the icon to show or just either or hours in

Re: Usage report inconsistencies

Problem solved, the Reports report the 'raw' traffic whereas the Usage Report multiplies the 'raw' numbers by the . In my example above the raw was 73.1 which, when multiplied by my factor 1.12, gives 83.1 Currently the table contains the 'raw' values. This may or may not be a problem, depending on how you look at having a other than 1.0. Typically you set this and leave it 'as is', &q

Re: Usage report inconsistencies

Hi Rod, Networx stores all dates and times in UTC (Greenwich, England is the base time) Networx has a setting for , mine is 300 minutes = 5 hours during EST (my time zone for Ontario, Canada). This changes to 4 hours when we switch to DST in March. Therefore, now, at 19:00 EST on the 24th, networx adds 300 minutes, gets 00:00 UTC and starts a new day by adding 1 to the date giving 25th.

Re: How can I isolate network usage by IP address?

8 years ago, by Praxis in NetWorx Forum

I assume 'they' are your children pointing to the 'work' traffic volume, and that you share the laptop with them when 'home'. You can have multiple Portable instances, each one can have it's own DB, so when at home, run the "home" instance, when at work, run the "work" instance. You wouldn't want to have both of these Start with Windows, you'd start them manually. Then the

Re: Lost NetWorx data on upgrade to 5.5.2

This suggestion won't help now but (likely) will in the future... Just before installing a newer version (of any program), make a copy of the data files that it uses. The simplest is using Explorer but there are other programs such as Robocopy and FreeFilleSync that can automate the process. I use FreeFilleSynch to mirror folders because I like it's UI. The important thing to remember is tha

Re: Suggestion: Display usage summary on the graph

8 years ago, by Praxis in NetWorx Forum

The device name is shown because it is possible to have multiple instances of NetWorx running, each of which is measuring a different connection device. However, if you measure All Connections then it isn't shown. J You can have 1 instance of the Installed version but an unlimited number of the Portable version. You would likely use the installed version to measure internet traffic and t

Just to be absolutely clear, do you do your backups and restores ONLY using the and button

Re: Error at startup: The database location is not writable or does not exist

Hi Andrew, Well if the program checks every time for the need to convert then perhaps the issue is with the combinations of: Export, Backup & Restore with Applications vs. Hourly Rates. If an Export was done with 5.5.0 and then Restored after the upgrade to 5.5.1 that could cause and error. (yes/no?) If a Backup was done with 5.5.0 and then Restored after the upgrade to 5.5.1 that could ca

It looks like a new field was added "IMAGE_ID" and all records prior to 5.5.1 were given a value of "NULL" although the IN/OUT values are there (not 'lost' in one sense, but effectively are lost because they can't be associated with a valid image_id). Using sqlitebrowser (thanks to Rod) an error is thrown as soon as the db is opened, see attachment 01. The other two attac

Re: Auto-increment problem in back-ups

Aw gee, I disagree. I think you did find a solution, but I also think you found a 'bug' in the author's implementation/thought processes. Currently, when the button is pressed, the program populates the input fields (incorrectly) and then throws an error without any option to "Ignore Check Constraints", and without providing a Help 'tip' on how to edit the Pragmas to ignore the con
