Re: Taskbar speed graph is flickering and covered by other toolbars on Windows 10

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

Thank you for the additional info. In NetWorx version 7.0.3 the taskbar was reimplemented in a different way to support Windows 11. Since Microsoft removed taskbar customisation in Windows 11, we had to find a new way to embed the graph within the taskbar. Previously we were using Microsoft's IDeskBand interface, but with the arrival of Windows 11 that's no longer possible. So we have reimp

Sorry once again, we can't reproduce this on a clean system. It looks like you have numerous apps placing their icons on the taskbar, so it's likely that one of them is interfering. If you really want to get to the bottom of this, I would recommend starting from a clean Windows installation, may be in a virtual machine. Then add the same apps one by one until you get the taskbar to flicker,

As mentioned before, it is possibly because you have animated taskbar background. In your attached pictures, one has a smoke-like animation on the right, and another one has a pearl floating around the middle. As far as I know it is not a standard Windows functionality, so maybe there is a third-party app that is contributing to the flicker?

In Windows 11 the taskbar layout is quite different to that of Windows 10. Sometimes the NetWorx graph may overlap the taskbar buttons, but changing the taskbar alignment to the Left should make it better:

Sorry, this doesn't seem reproducible, as you can see below: It is possible that in your case the issue is caused by the animation and other effects that you have in your taskbar. Also, we have recently fixed a couple of things with the taskbar graph. Please try the latest build as it might work better for you.

Re: Hidden Settings - full list and description

Usage Adjustment Factor was removed. More specifically, it was not added when NetWorx was reimplemented from scratch. If you really need this feature, I recommend staying with version 6.x for now. If there is sufficient demand for this feature, we will add it in the future.

Re: How to get more accurate usage reports with VPN

We have added a new menu item in the apps view that lets you exclude any app. When an app is excluded it will still be shown in the list, but its upload/download figures will be excluded from all reports. The new builds can be downloaded here.

In this case we need to find out what causes the process termination, i.e. whether networx.exe exits by itself or the OS or another process terminates it. There is a tool from Microsoft called GFLAGS that allows one to set up silent termination monitoring. You can download it or use the one attached to this message and set it up as shown below. Ensure that C:\NetWorx destination exists as dumps

Re: App randomly closes on macOS

Thank you for reporting these issues. Unfortunately we have been unable to reproduce this so far. Data usage by kernel_task is most likely local, for example it's used for Time Machine backups, and that's what iStat Menu and Activity monitor show. NetWorx on the other hand excludes any local usage and only displays connections to public IP addresses. We have just fixed the drop-down calendar a

Re: BSOD during restart after updating to 4.3.3

Thank you for reporting this issue. Unfortunately it's hard to tell what caused this. We have never seen this bug check code before and it's unlikely to happen again. It could be due to a combination of installed drivers or a race condition, but again it seems to be extremely rare. Please let us know if it happens again.

Re: Locking Windows causes taskbar toolbar to be removed from toolbar list

I found some references online to Windows closing apps when locking for a long time. This could be because the computer goes into sleep or restarts. Having said that, I have once again tried installing DisplayFusion and AquaSnap and enabling multi-monitor taskbar, but everything worked as expected. Putting the computer to sleep and waking up worked as expected as well. Perhaps you could try uni

Re: App randomly terminates on macOS 12.5.1

Please try downloading and updating the app to the latest build. We have recently fixed another issue that caused the app to be randomly terminated. If the issue persists with that version, let us know and we will look into it further.

Re: Locking Windows causes taskbar toolbar to be removed from toolbar list

It looks like you are using an older version. In the latest release the taskbar graph is implemented without a toolbar. This was done to support the taskbar graph on Windows 11, where Microsoft removed it. I recommend downloading and installing the latest version from NetWorx product page. If it solves the problem, great. If not, let us know and we will look into it further.

It doesn't seem to be reproducible with DisplayFusion and AquaSnap with the default settings. Perhaps you have Desktop Locked or Desktop Unlocked triggers defined in DisplayFusion?

Speed graph in taskbar on Windows 11 covers other icons - Fixed

To remove the graph, simply shrink it to the right. Once there is no space for the chart, it will be hidden automatically:

Re: How to display logged-on users after WMIC was deprecated

1 year ago, by Andrew in Network Scanner Forum

There are a few ways to display logged-on users. At least one of these methods should work regardless of WMIC depreciation. Via the Lookup logged-on users on the Workstation tab. This uses NetWkstaUserEnum Windows API. Via the WMI under Options - Remote WMI, although likely this will not detect multiple logons: SELECT UserName FROM Win32_ComputerSystem Via the scripting feature under Opti

Re: Using SIDs in Remote Registry queries

In the Options - Remote Registry feature the Registry Browser operates on the local machine. It is present merely for convenience and allows you to choose a path to query from the local registry. If you need to query a value or key that is not on the local machine, you will need to type it manually.

Re: Using SIDs in Remote Registry queries

You can use VB scripting for that under Options - Remote Scripting. Here is a sample script that prints logged SIDs with their %PATH% variable read from the registry: const HKEY_USERS = 2147483651 'Connect using current user Set objWMI = GetObject("winmgmts:{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" & Input.Current & "\root\cimv2" 'Get interactive session Set

Re: VPN and connection monitoring

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetGenius Forum

It is a common issue with VPN clients, because they intercept network connections from other apps, encrypt them and then send within a secure tunnel. Depending on how a specific VPN client is implemented, usually this can be seen either as: no network activity in the apps, but network activity in the VPN client; or network activity in the apps, and then the same network activity in the VPN

Re: Pressing the same key twice causes error messages - Fixed

Thank you for the feedback. The fact that the search doesn't match the double-letter words like "ssh" seems to be due to a bug in the underlying tree control. Unfortunately it cannot be fixed easily, but you could instead type what you need to find in the search box: Regarding the taskbar toolbar, it is not automatically removed, but is simply deactivated. Re: Monitoring Hyper-V virtual adapters from the host machine

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetGenius Forum

NetGenius can't monitor Hyper-V adapters or any other traffic originating from the Windows kernel. This is because it runs at a higher level in the network stack to intercept network activity along with process information, while virtual network adapters are located at a lower level. If you want to monitor Hyper-V adapters, I'd recommend a different tool called NetWorx. It can run in two modes:

Re: Windows 11 taskbar graph

Thanks for reporting it. That was a small bug indeed. The minute ticks setting should have no effect on the taskbar graph as there is no space for them. We have just fixed this in the latest builds.

Re: Saving contents to image and unmounting disk on shutdown

The settings work as follows: With Save Contents to Image enabled, all data are automatically saved upon shutdown or reboot. In addition to that, if the periodic saving has been enabled via the Advanced button, all data are automatically saved at the set interval. On shutdown, the RAM disk is unmounted and its contents is gone. At startup, if the RAM disk had been tied with an image, the data

Re: Clean uninstall to fix unresponsive GUI

1 year ago, by Andrew in RAM Disk Forum

Sorry we don't know what's causing this. Unfortunately it's impossible to pinpoint the cause without having your computer with kernel debugger attached to it. There may be something wrong with Windows or its disk configuration. Another possibility is that there may be some third party software that is conflicting with the RAM disk. You could try this workaround still, but if nothing works, I
