Possible 5.2.10 network driver issue?

10 years ago, by ed1 in NetWorx Forum

I am using the Windows firewall and Avast anti-virus. No other filtering software, other than SoftPerfect WiFi Guard. I am willing to try again. Would disabling any of those items while installing Networx produce a different result? I would like to continue using them. If I do try again to use the Networx driver, should I uninstall WinPCap before installing Networx?

Possible 5.2.10 network driver issue?

10 years ago, by ed1 in NetWorx Forum

For months, I've been running Networx 5.2.8 and then 5.2.9 with WinPCap 4.1.2 rather than the included LAN driver. Today, I used Backup to save historical data, uninstalled 5.2.9, uninstalled WinPCap, installed 5.2.10 selecting the included LAN driver and restored historical data. Twice, each time about 10 minutes after boot up, the system froze completely with display remaining frozen. Requi

With 5.2.10, setting the deskband frame display to "False" in the advanced settings does not seem to work.

NetWorx blue screen

10 years ago, by ed1 in NetWorx Forum

As a result of some Windows blue screens with the original 5.2.9, I have installed version 5.2.9 with the 5.2.8 driver. Since doing so, I am still getting occasional blue screens and/or the screen freezing without a blue screen (requiring a power button switch off). When installing Networx, I checked the option to ignore traffic on the LAN. I also have WinPCap still installed. I don't know

5.2.9 install questions

I am currently running Networx 5.2.8 and WinPCap. I see that Networx 5.2.9 includes a new LAN traffic filtering driver. In view of the new driver with 5.2.9, is it advisable/preferable to: (1) Discontinue use of WinPCap (uninstall it from my computers)? (2) Uninstall 5.2.8 before installing 5.2.9 (rather that just installing 5.2.9 over 5.2.8)?

WinPCap/LAN driver question

But, if I check the Ignore LAN box, the drop down shifts to All Connections and is grayed out. Does this mean that once the Ignore LAN box is checked, Networx can only monitor all network connections? If so, that would not work for me, as I have a TV card installed in the computer for which I do not wish to monitor usage as it's using television signal data rather than internet data. If tha

WinPCap/LAN driver question

I just updated to Networx 5.2.8 and left checked the selection in the installer dialogue box to install the Networx LAN driver. I also have WinPCap 4.1.2 installed. I have selected the drop down option to Ignore Local Traffic: and have checked the box to synchronize Networx with other network computers. It's been so long since I installed WinPCap, I forgot why it was recommnended with Net
