Re: Can no longer monitor router with 5.5

Good news here. We've finally received a router and the bug was reproduced and fixed. Please download the new build and it should work well now.

Try something like this: powershell.exe -NoExit -NonInteractive Invoke-Command -ComputerName -ScriptBlock {{ your-commands-here }}
Re: How to delete list items on the Applications tab

Good point, I've just discovered that apps were recorded even if the hour status was set to Unmetered. Here is a new build that fixes it, please test it and let me know how it works. You will need to go to the Advanced settings and mark 00.00 to 7:59 AM as Unmetered. Then NetWorx should automatically only show your metered traffic, including in the Applications tab:

The way NetWorx sync usage is as follows (in this example with two computers A and B): System A and B broadcast their presence status. When system A receives the broadcast from system B, system A pulls up all records from the B.usage table and store them in the A.peer_usage table and vice versa. If a record for that computer, user and time exists in A.usage, but not in B.peer_usage, it's added

This option is no longer present because now applications are recorded by day, thus obsolete applications will disappear from the view over time. Keeping this option would also be ambiguous: say when deleting an application, are we deleting it for one day, a selected date range, or all entries? If you want to see applications in real-time, there's no need to delete them, instead use the NetStat

Sorry it's not clear what you are asking. Assuming you had a 1 GB image-backed RAM Disk assigned to drive E: where you kept your programs, I am afraid there's no way to know what happened to it. Check the location where you saved it, but if it's not there, perhaps it was somehow deleted, in which case recovery isn't possible. Additionally, there's no point in storing Opera on a RAM Disk a

The settings are stored in %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\SoftPerfect\NetWorx.

Looks like you somehow retained old settings. The graph is not borderless by default, but when it is, the system won't allow you to resize it. This can be controlled through the hidden settings, see under Frameless graph window.
Re: Spyware reports in NetWorx - false alarm?

The same Norton here doesn't show any alerts, neither do the vast majority of other AVs.

No, there is no way. The software can't handle more than 300-500 Mbps and I doubt any software can. You'd need a hardware shaper like this, but even then 10 Gbps is the theoretical maximum.

There is no problem here. The one on the left is a desk band that shows real-time usage. It can be turned on and off by right-clicking an empty area on the taskbar and choose Toolbars - NetWorx Desk Band. The one on the right is a regular NetWorx icon that is used to access NetWorx functions. It can be turned on and off as this article describes.
Re: Can no longer monitor router with 5.5

Thanks, we've received that, but what I need is a capture of what NetWorx sends to the router and what response it receives. Could you please capture it with NetWorx talking to the router?

The software only saves changed blocks, so if nothing was changed, nothing would be written. Though in this case there's no point in setting 1m auto save either. By the way, make a backup copy of your image periodically, just in case. Regarding disabling auto-play, there's a way through the registry as described here. You may be able to find a utility that does the maths for you.
Re: Can no longer monitor router with 5.5

Looks really strange as if the router didn't have a web-server running or didn't respond. I guess we'll have to buy the actual device to debug this, stay tuned.
Re: Can no longer monitor router with 5.5

Thank you, it appears the web-server in the router doesn't respond with 200 OK. I have added more logging to see what response it sends, so please try the updated build and post here a new log.
Re: Synchronisation query: per-user traffic attribution

Hmm, strange the error 10048 should no longer occur, but perhaps this depends on the OS. We now use a flag to allow a new socket to bind twice to the same port number, but it may vary in Windows OS versions. As to user1's usage attributed to user2 or vice versa, NetWorx in essence doesn't know whose traffic it is. The OS only tells us how many bytes were sent and received through a specific con

That means it is running. If you can find it in the notification area, launch the Task Manager and terminate the ramwiskws.exe process.

Re: Can no longer monitor router with 5.5

Perhaps something goes wrong with these routers. It shouldn't be too hard to catch though. Could either of you guys please do the following? Download this build. Unpack it in a temporary folder. Let it run for a few minutes. Quit NetWorx and e-mail me networx.txt from that folder to [email protected]. There would be recorded router responses to allow us identify and fix the issue.
Re: Error message: Unable install/uninstall disk driver
10 years ago, by Andrew in RAM Disk & RAM File System Forum
Unfortunately there's no way to install it manually because the installer calls a number of OS functions. This error suggests something is not right with the OS, but I am afraid I can't help you with that. It's a free product after all.

Most likely you are using the Ignore LAN traffic within the LAN option, if so please see this article.

What exactly doesn't work: the router doesn't show up in the dialog below, or this part works fine, but there's nothing on the graph?
Re: Netscan did not find the router

Could you please check with Wireshark if it sends ICMP echo to 192.168.1.1 and receives any response when it's not displayed? Here is an example, just change the filter to the address in question 192.168.1.1:
Re: Synchronisation query: per-user traffic attribution

In this scenario when the first user logs out, the second user, as you correctly pointed out, stays with error 10048 and no sync will be performed until another user logs in and starts a new copy of NetWorx. Usually it's not a big issue, it simply delays sync until that happens but yes, it could be improved. I went ahead and added a quick workaround to solve this issue, if you want to try it.

John, you'd be about the 10th this week asking us to remove a virus that is not there It's a pretty common issue, we specifically mentioned it in this article. Unfortunately that's the way NAV works. Even though our software has good reputation, any change to the files (such as a new version or a language update) triggers these alerts. Here is more information about this issue.
Re: Email notifications setup: why test fails?

It's not very clear what you are asking. Where does that warning message come from? It looks like a Unix/Linux path, it shouldn't show at all on Windows. May be post some screen shots illustrating the issue? Regarding the frequency of e-mails, it's one e-mail per detection (so it depends on how often WiFi Guard scans your network).
Re: "I know this computer or device" for 1 day
10 years ago, by Andrew in WiFi Guard Forum
I guess it's possible, but what's the practical use? The only scenario I see this fit is when you have visitors whose MAC addresses you want to label as known for a limited time, but there is no harm in having them remembered permanently.
Re: Conflict with PIA VPN Client and TEMP folder

No, we are the developers who created the RAM Disk, but I can't tell why a third-party product is failing in this case. I hope you get helpful advice from the guys that created the PIA VPN client.
Re: Conflict with PIA VPN Client and TEMP folder
10 years ago, by Andrew in RAM Disk & RAM File System Forum
As we aren't the authors of the VPN product, we can only guess, but here are a few things to try: Make sure you are using a boot-time disk (Disk - Add Boot Disk in the main menu) Make sure your TMP and TEMP variables point to something like B:\temp, that is not to the drive's root and there is no trailing slash. The temporary folder must exist as Windows will not create it. Try turning on Har

I guess this could be caused by some leftovers of the previous installation. Did you try this guide to delete everything and do a fresh install?
