Reporting bandwidth usage by applications   06 February 2014, 01:19

Hi! Networx is great. Thanks! I have a suggestion to make it better.

Many times I find myself trying to do something and find that some application on my computer is using up all my bandwidth. It would be nice to be able to see which process is using up the bandwidth. I have found that I can go to the Usage Report - Applications tab, reset all the data, and refresh to get a report of which program is using the data, but an automated process would be much better. A screen like the Usage Report - Applications tab but refreshed with usage for the past 2 seconds, or something like that would be most helpful.

Thanks again,

Dan

Good idea. I guess we could combine it with the netstat window. Stay tuned smile

Networx is a great tool. And I have another suggestion on this: Hourly, Daily and Monthly Application Bandwidth Consumption reports.

I mean, how much has Chrome downloaded today? And Java updates last month? What application was monopolizing bandwidth last hour?
I think that would be very useful.

Thanks.
I agree this would be great for investigating problems. If the data captured is granular enough you could get some very useful info. and it should be easy to dive down through any of your existing report items to see the details that it is built from.

If you're accepting votes on the request - I vote yes please.
