Scanner is hanging on specific devices   07 May 2013, 03:07

When scanning the entire subnet, there are 2 Liteshow Display devices that are the same model / NIC and the scanning sits on those entries with a ? and the scan never completes. If I stop the scan, they both show with icon that has a red x symbol.
Both devices are running the latest firmware.

Here's what is seen in properties:

Basic Info	Host Name	liteshow-confa.lcdf.org
Basic Info	HTTP Banner
Basic Info	IP Address	[REMOVED]
Basic Info	MAC Address	00-12-5F-01-6B-FE
Basic Info	NIC Vendor	AWIND Inc.
Basic Info	Response Time	2 ms
Remote SNMP	Hostname
Remote SNMP	System Contact
Remote SNMP	System Description
Remote SNMP	System Location
Remote SNMP	Uptime
Shared Resources	Folders
TCP/UDP Ports	DNS Query
TCP/UDP Ports	NBNS Status
TCP/UDP Ports	NTP Status
TCP/UDP Ports	TCP Ports	443, 80, 8080
TCP/UDP Ports	TFTP Status
Workstation	LAN Group
Workstation	Logged User
Workstation	OS
Workstation	Remote Time

Any ideas why this might be happening?

This tends to happen with some devices (I mean devices with a custom TCP/IP stack unlike regular computers). My best guess is that the device they don't answer a request in a timely manner and Windows waits indefinitely for it to complete.
