Latency to miles conversion

Latency to miles conversion   16 October 2020, 19:28

We want to know the conversion between the latency and the distance.
For example: 30ms on the Latency tab ~ ?? miles
Can you help?

I don't think there is a precise formula. Generally, the signals travel at the speed of light, plus extra latency when passing routers. You can use this WAN Latency Estimator as rough guide.

30ms should be around 1500 miles (note that the latency is applied two ways in the Connection Emulator, and the RTT will be 60ms or ~3000 miles).
