Impossible to "Follow router instead of computer"

Started by Boffo

Hello,

First of all, French is my mother tongue, so excuse my broken English.

My internet provider allows me 200 Mo per day from 6 am to 12 pm. From 0 am to 6 am there is no limit. So, I installed Networx to follow that. Unfortunately, I cannot follow the flow in the router.
I activated SNMP on windows vista, opened the port 161 on the firewall, went to the router's settings and put the same name for the read and write community name. I put this name in Networx with ctrl-O. I downloaded Frameflow SNMP Browser to check the router and it works.

Anyway, the "Interface WAN" in Networx stays blank and when I click "Ok", I've got an error message. The router is G801 Flying Voice. I'm not sure of this, there is nothing written on the box. I found this information by my browser, on the page of the router.

Did I make a mistake or forgot something?

Tank you for your time and answers

Dan

My thoughts:
1) your firewall must Allow networx.exe outbound (port 161)
2) community names are 'case sensitive', "ABC" is not equal to "abc"
The firewall already allowed networx.exe but, even that, I've open port 161 for networx UDP and open port 161 for TCP. I read about it on this forum before, so I took care of it. So it's not that.
Thanks anyway.

It's quite strange, but would be inclined to think it's a firewall issue. Try disabling your firewall completely and see if it helps.
