Ignore local traffic within the lan 03 November 2013, 03:57 |
Hello
Am using Networx 5.2.11 64bit on windows 8.1 and whenever i enable the Ignore local traffic within the LAN option to monitor applications usage data i get errors mostly from every download manager
,, files downloading reaches 99% then restart downloading all over again an again, when this option is disabled all working fine but mainly i installed this software to monitor application usage on my PC
any advice regarding this issue ?
thanks in advance

t's likely to be an issue with the built-in network driver that NetWorx uses to filter out local traffic.
If you are using the latest version (5.2.11) and you had chosen the WFP driver, try reinstalling NetWorx at which time choose the TDI driver to install and reboot.
If still no joy and you need to exclude local traffic, it's possible to use a third party driver:
In this case NetWorx will be using the WinPCap driver, rather its own custom driver and you shouldn't have any connectivity issues again.

If still no joy and you need to exclude local traffic, it's possible to use a third party driver:
- Backup your usage and uninstall NetWorx.
- Download and install WinPCap.
- Install latest NetWorx again leaving the "LAN Traffic Filtering Driver" option unticked.
- When NetWorx starts, you should be able to choose one of your adapters prefixed with "Ignore LAN Traffic" from the drop-down list in the NetWorx settings.

Perhaps something on your system interferes with the TDI driver.
As to the WinPCap option, that's by design that the option becomes disabled:
This is because WinPCap allows you to filter LAN traffic on a specific interface.

I need to exclude local traffic, but if I use the built-in network driver that NetWorx uses to filter out local traffic my Epson scanner go slowly.
I've followed these steps but it is only a temporary solution:
The problem is that without "Networx built-in LAN Traffic Filtering Driver" I can't control and filter LAN traffic on ALL interfaces (ethernet and wifi).
So, how could I filter LAN traffic and control both ethernet and wifi interface without blocking my scanner?
