Solution for the random BSOD   23 November 2013, 00:39

Hello, some time after I upgraded to Networx 5.2.11, I started experiencing some random Blue Screens of Death.

It was extremely hard to know what was causing this because it happened randomly. Sometimes twice a day, sometimes once in 24 hours. It was a nightmare. I didn't know how to read dumps so I thought it was a driver issue and I spent days uninstalling and reinstalling drivers (and waiting several hours for the crash to occur) but it didn't solve the problem.

Until I sent my error logs to to SevenForums. The guy told me that networx.sys was probably the source of the problem. I uninstalled it completely, used my computer intensively for 10 hours (so far) and it hasn't crashed yet. I cannot guaranty that the problem is solved but it looks good so far.

My system is: Windows 7 Professional 64bits, i7 3770, 32GB RAM

I didn't have this problem with the version of Networx prior to 5.2.11.

Does anyone have any other solution suggestions? I'd really love to use the latest version of NetWorx - it's a great program!

The simplest solution is to try choosing the TDI driver rather than the WFP driver when installing NetWorx and reboot.

Thanks!! The TDI driver solved the problem.
Would you consider removing the WFP Driver altogether? IMHO it's better to have a partially working software than a software that may occasionally crash the computer.

That said, Networx is a fantastic tool. I use it for the discrete taskbar integration that shows the network activity. You can't do more simple than that ! ok, yes, thumb up

I can confirm that choosing the TDI Driver has solved the problem.
My PC has been running for 7 days without rebooting.
