Detailed email notifications 21 January 2014, 11:25 |

Hi,
I have just started using NetWorx moving away from other software that does the same.
I have setup a notification when traffic 'received and sent more' than 1 GB within 1 hour.
what I would like to do now is send an email with details such as Incoming Traffic, Outgoing Traffic and Total Traffic for that hour.
is this possible?
Regards
Rodney

I have just added this in the latest build.
Prior to launching an external application in the notifications, it sets the NOTIFY environment variable that you can access in your script.
It can be seen by specifying cmd.exe /k echo %NOTIFY% to be launched.

ok, the environment variable works fine now to get the event to fire.
when I set the notification condition to:
received and sent more
1 MB
1 min
All traffic
the event fires: a lot but when set to:
received and sent more
1 GB
1 h
All traffic
the event does not fire even when I copy a 2.6 GB file.
any thoughts

It might be an issue with the notifications when the Settings dialog is accessed, that is opened and closed, the notifications are reset.
For example, say you're downloading a 1 GB file and half way through you accessed the Settings, it will only accumulate 0.5 GB for the notifications, which then may not fire.
Try not to access the Settings while testing the notifications.

Thanks Andrew, that make more sense.
I got two emails
1. Within the last 60 minutes there was received or sent more than 1.00 GB of data: received 14.2 MB sent 1.01 GB
2. Within the last 60 minutes there was received or sent more than 1.00 GB of data: received 19.3 MB sent 1.01 GB
I did copy 2 GB so I am guessing that the first GB triggered the first event and the second GB triggered the second event.
Is there a way so that the events only trigger once per the event time period?
