Cannot instal program in Ubuntu   04 November 2016, 09:27

I am using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on a laptop.

I have downloaded and saved onto a USB Memory Stick - networx_linux_amd64.deb
It is 1.4MB in size.

When I click this file, it opens a Ubuntu Software window for Networx, which includes an “Install” button, and the information “Details, Size, 5.1 MB”. When I click this button, it changes to “Installing” for about two seconds. Nothing else happens.

What should happen, and where do I go from here?

So does it revert to Install or changes to Installed or Reinstall?

If it reverts to Install, I guess there may be something wrong with the package. In that case, you can try unpacking and running the ELF-binary directly. You may also need to have installed Indicator Systemtray Unity to have NetWorx's icon displayed.
