Thanks to SoftPerfect for this excellent tool

Just wanted to pass on my thanks to SoftPerfect for this excellent tool. Though I have a relatively fast computer, having this software to enhance what speed I already have is very much appreciated. I also want to thank Andrew for his patient instructions getting the software to work as I wanted it to.

Just wanted to pass on my thanks to SoftPerfect for this wonderful network monitoring tool. My wired network is not a problem, and is very rarely down. Still, having this tool both for general information and specific troubleshooting if necessary, is very much appreciated.

Optimal RAM Disk size

I have a 1 month old computer running a quad core FX+ AMD processor, a Hybrid Main Disk Drive, RX7 260X AMD Video card with 2 GB GDDR5, and 12 GB RAM. I also use a software accelerator "PCBoost 4" (PGWare) and have a 18,282 MB Swap File. I currently have a RAM Disk of 4 GB size that is created on Boot-up and has all TEMP & TMP files directed to it. UPDATE: That tutorial was exactly what I was looking for - how to change the environmental variables under Windows (my SET command). All temp files are now being written to R (RAMDisk) \TEMP. @Andrew: And which file does the R:\Temp line of code go - autoexec.bat; system.ini; win.ini; or...? (I still don't understand why the Set command isn't the way to go!). Many thanks for your assistance.

@Andrew: I'm still confused. When I press the 'Set Windows Temp Folder' button in the Tools Menu, I get a pop-up box with two identical lines pre-filled in with the following: "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp". Are you saying I should change that line or is that the line as its supposed to be? I guess I'm expecting some line of code similar to a DOS-style "Set Temp=R:\Temp"

RAM Disk for Temp files

Hello All, I'm trying to create a RAM disk as the place for my Windows Temp files, but I'm clearly doing something wrong. I have created a RAM disk R:\ of 4 GB and have told the software to create this disk at bootup, and to create a folder called Temp on the R:\ drive. This it is successfully doing, but the folder itself is empty. If someone could explain what I'm doing wrong I'd appreciate it
