scan for proxim devices   26 June 2013, 05:34

Hello. I have a question. Is it possible to make the tool to broadcast on a specific port? For example the proxim devices can be found on the network on UDP port 2719. I can ping the entire subnet but it takes time. But using broadcast is faster. I know I can use the tool they provide but it will be interesting if it is possible to search for devices using broadcast.
Thank you.

No, it's not possible at the moment.

Even if it was possible to broadcast a packet to port 2719, it would have to be a packet in the specific fornat understood by Proxim devices.

Sending an emty UDP packet would most likely result in no responce.

Sometimes you can find a solution faster if you try the forum search, have a look at the knowledge base, or check the software user manual to see if your question has already been answered.
