Last scan date

Last scan date   13 April 2016, 05:39

With the release of 6.1.5, the way the last scan date is recorded changed. The old version used the last date the device was successfully scanned and found online. The new method is recording the last date the scan occurred, regardless of the status of the device. Screenshot of each are attached.

I can see rationale for either method, but personally found the old method better for my uses as it tells me a lot more about what is happening on the network. I wanted to get clarity on which method is the planned functionality going forward.

Thanks, Ed

You are right, both methods can be useful so we have re-added the old way, which is now called Last Seen as it essentially showed when a device was last seen online. Please download the update.

Wow, you guys are fast!

Thanks for the update. Having both columns is great - best of both worlds.

The new "Last seen" feature seems to be broken for me. It works as long as the scanned device is online. As soon as the device goes offline, the field goes blank instead of showing the last time the device was active. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Are those columns marked as retained columns?

Well, ahem, no, the 'Last seen' column wasn't marked. Knew I was doing something wrong. smile

Works perfectly now. Thanks for the tip Andrew!
